Our new green roof!
01/07/10
We're all really excited about this. We had to wait a long time whilst our roof underwent extensive repairs but this is the moment we had all been waiting for: the laying of our sedum roof!
The sedum blankets arrived in big rolls teaming with life, colour and insects and were rolled out onto our roof only last week. It's wonderful to see this little patch of green amidst all the concrete and brick. We're having to water it every other day whilst the plants settle in (the hottest days in summer so far)! But hopefully they will take well and provide a haven for wildlife and watering will no longer be necessary. The flat roofs that you can see in the picture are above the back of the Infinity shop and include the Brighton Natural Health Centre as well.
